CF Estrela came from a goal down to beat SC Braga 2-1 in the Primeira Liga, with Ianis Stoica scoring twice after Gabriel Martínez Aguilera had given the visitors an early lead.

Match Summary

SC Braga were in front after five minutes at Campo Municipal dos Prazeres. Pau Victor found Gabriel Martínez Aguilera, and the away side had the start they wanted. Estrela spent the next spell chasing rather than dictating the play.

Stefan Lekovic was booked in the 27th minute, yet the hosts still found a reply as half-time arrived. Eddy Doué set up Ianis Stoica in the 45th minute, and the teams went in level. The second half turned quickly. Abraham Marcus supplied Stoica again in the 56th minute, and Estrela led for the first time.

Braga kept most of the ball from there and kept asking questions. João Moutinho was shown a yellow card in the 77th minute, and Luan Patrick followed for Estrela in the 85th. Nobody added another goal. The official scoreline stayed 2-1.

Key Moments

The early away goal put Estrela on the back foot and invited Braga to manage the match with territory. That platform never became a second strike, so the contest stayed open.

Leveling as the first half ended was the reset. Estrela could restart even, then take the lead, instead of spending the second half hunting a deficit. Stoica’s two finishes flipped the scoreline from behind to in front, and Braga never recovered that ground.

After that, Braga’s extra corners and late pressure had to produce an equalizer. They did not get it. The three yellow cards stayed at cautions, and the one-goal margin held.

Match Statistics

Braga held 63 percent of possession to Estrela’s 37 and won nine corners to five. The shot count still favored the home side, nine to eight, with five on target against four. Yellow cards finished two for Estrela and one for Braga. No red cards were shown.

What the Result Means

Estrela sit ninth in the Primeira Liga on six points from four matches, with a goal difference of plus one, after one win and three draws in their last four. SC Braga are seventh, on seven points from three matches and a goal difference of plus two, after two wins and one draw in their last three. A single point still separates the two sides.
