Corinthians SP defeated Mirassol SP 2-0 in the Brasileirão - Série A, turning a first-half red card into a second-half win. Matheus Bidu broke the deadlock after the restart, and a further home goal whose scorer was not listed in match data completed the 2-0 result.

Match Summary

The opening spell was about discipline, not goals. Mirassol SP were shown a yellow card after 21 minutes, and Bruno Santos was sent off after 24 minutes. Corinthians SP had a man extra at Neo Quimica Arena from that point, yet they could not turn the advantage into a first-half lead.

The visitors kept collecting cautions as the half closed. Edson Carioca was booked, and Rafael Guanaes followed with a yellow near the interval. Corinthians SP still went in at 0-0 despite the extra player.

The second half finally produced the finish. Matheus Bidu had Corinthians SP in front after 58 minutes, and the home side added another with 80 minutes gone. The scorer of that second goal was not listed in match data. Late yellow cards for Corinthians SP, including one for Matheuzinho, arrived after the contest had been decided.

Key Moments

Bruno Santos's red card was the decisive swing, even though the score stayed 0-0 for some time afterward. Mirassol SP had to play more than an hour with 10 men. That sending-off left them a player short for the rest of the night, and they finished without a shot.

The long wait for a goal still mattered. While the match remained scoreless, Corinthians SP had not turned the extra player into a lead. The first goal after the restart finally put that advantage on the scoreboard. The second, with 10 minutes remaining, then made a one-goal lead into a two-goal cushion and ended any realistic path back for 10-man Mirassol SP.

Match Statistics

The numbers matched a night of one-way pressure. Corinthians SP had 59 percent of possession to 41 for Mirassol SP and outshot them 24 to 0, with five shots on target against none. Expected goals were 2.07 to 0, and corners finished 4-2 for the home side. Mirassol SP carried the only red card, and the home side did not receive one.
