Palmeiras SP ran away with a 6-1 win over Remo PA in Brasileirão - Série A at Nubank Parque. The hosts took the points in emphatic fashion, leaving Remo with a single goal on the official scoreline.

Match Summary

Wilton Pereira Sampaio, Brazil, refereed Palmeiras SP against Remo PA, and the home side closed the night 6-1. Palmeiras created the clearer chances, while Remo kept enough of the ball to finish with 44 percent possession. That share never translated into a contest on the scoreboard.

After half-time the visitors collected a run of yellow cards. Marllon was shown a yellow in the 53rd minute, Jaja was booked on the hour, and Marcelinho followed in the 66th minute. Edson Fernando was cautioned late as well. Palmeiras SP received no yellow cards and no reds. Remo also finished without a sending-off. The official result remained Palmeiras SP 6, Remo PA 1.

Key Moments

Remo's cautions were the main swing after the break. Four yellow cards, all for the away side, arrived after the interval and showed a team struggling to live with Palmeiras SP. None became a red, so Remo stayed at 11, yet the bookings did not help them change the 6-1 result.

The chance profile is the reason the scoreline was so wide. Palmeiras SP produced 4.65 expected goals against 0.27 for Remo PA, and they put nine shots on target from 17 attempts. Remo managed five on target from 10. That is a mismatch, not a curious 6-1.

Possession stayed relatively even at 56 percent to 44, which is why the night was not a story of Palmeiras simply starving Remo of the ball. Corners went 5-3 to the hosts. The gap was in the quality of looks, and in a home side that turned those looks into a 6-1 win.
