Flamengo RJ left Remo PA with a 0-1 win in Brasileirão - Série A, Samuel Lino's second-half goal the difference on a night the visitors controlled possession and the shot count. Remo PA kept the game scoreless for more than an hour, then could not answer once the lead changed hands.

Match Summary

Both teams lined up in a 4-2-3-1, but the first half belonged to Flamengo RJ without a goal to show for it. Remo PA defended in numbers and asked almost nothing going the other way. The visitors moved the ball, yet the interval arrived at 0-0. Late in the half Antonio Galeano was booked for Remo, and Giorgian de Arrascaeta followed into the book for Flamengo.

The second half began in the same pattern. Jorge Carrascal picked up a yellow for Flamengo shortly after the restart. The breakthrough still waited until Samuel Lino scored for the away side, Giorgian de Arrascaeta with the assist. That strike was the only goal. Remo PA had to come out, and Marcelo Rodrigues Souza was cautioned as they chased the game. Flamengo saw out the official 0-1 scoreline without a late twist.

Key Moments

Going in scoreless after a one-sided first half kept Remo PA alive. It also meant a single finish would decide the points, which is how the night unfolded. Once Flamengo RJ were in front, the visitors could protect the lead rather than hunt a second, and Remo PA never forced a real scramble.

The bookings stayed yellow. Nobody was sent off, so Flamengo kept a full side to close the match. Remo's late caution came when the result was already leaning away from them, more a symptom of the chase than a turning point.

Match Statistics

Flamengo RJ held 66 percent of possession to Remo PA's 34 and fired 21 shots to 6, putting five on target against one. Corners finished 9-7 for the visitors. Each team received two yellow cards, and there were no red cards. The shot gap explains why one goal was enough and why Remo PA never seriously threatened an equalizer.

What the Result Means

Flamengo sit second in Serie A with 51 points from 25 matches and a goal difference of 29, with four wins and one loss in their last five. Remo are 19th after the same 25 matches, on 23 points and a goal difference of minus 12. Two draws and three losses in their last five underline a difficult run. The sides are 28 points apart.
