SK Rapid Vienna and Hearts played out a 1-1 draw in the Liga Conferência, a Conference League meeting that swung after Hearts went a player down and still equalized. Neither goal had a scorer listed in the match data.

Match Summary

Hearts were already in the referee's book by the 18th minute and collected another yellow before half-time. Rapid still made the first incision, going in front in the 34th minute. The scorer was not listed in the match data. That remained the only goal of the opening period, and Rapid took a one-goal lead into the break.

After the restart Hearts took a third yellow just before the hour. Matthias Seidl was booked for Rapid in the 74th minute, and two minutes later Hearts were reduced to 10 men by a red card. Hearts still leveled in the 79th minute, again without a named scorer in the match data. The visitors added another yellow in the 86th minute, Rapid were cautioned in the first minute of added time, and the contest ended 1-1.

The 76th-minute red card was the night's hinge. Rapid had the lead and the extra player, which should have made the closing quarter a matter of game management. Hearts answered within three minutes and turned a likely defeat into a point.

Rapid never found a second goal despite the numerical advantage. Their first-half lead gave them a cushion, but the late concession meant that cushion disappeared before they could protect it with 11 against 10.

Cards shaped the closing stages as much as the scoreboard. Hearts finished with four yellows plus the dismissal, while Rapid collected two cautions, one of them on Seidl and another in stoppage time.

Match Statistics

Rapid outshot Hearts 19 to 9 and led in expected goals, 1.68 to 1.34, with an 8-6 edge in corners. Conversion told a different story. Hearts put four attempts on target to Rapid's three and left with a share of the spoils. The disciplinary count lined up with that late scramble: two Rapid yellows against four for Hearts, who also finished a player short.
