São Paulo SP and Corinthians SP played out a 0-0 draw in Brasileirão - Série A. Neither side scored, and Corinthians SP finished the night with a red card.

Match Summary

The first half stayed blank. São Paulo SP were shown the opening yellow after 33 minutes, and Corinthians SP followed in first-half stoppage time. There was no goal before the interval, and the teams turned around still at 0-0.

The restart did not loosen the scoreline. Corinthians SP picked up another yellow early in the second half, then São Paulo SP were cautioned in a short burst around the hour, including two yellow cards in the 61st minute. Both teams were booked again in the 67th minute. Late on, Ferreirinha received a yellow for São Paulo SP, and Corinthians SP were cautioned once more in stoppage time. The official result was still 0-0 at the end.

Key Moments

The red card shown to Corinthians SP was the match's biggest swing. It handed São Paulo SP a numerical advantage, yet that extra player never produced a goal, so the sending-off changed the shape of the contest without changing the score.

The bookings around the hour mattered because they broke up the second half. Two São Paulo SP yellows in the 61st minute, followed by cautions for both sides six minutes later, kept referee R. Claus in the middle of the action and made it harder for either team to build a winning spell.

The volume of shots, without a finish, is the other reason this stayed level. Both sides took more than a dozen attempts and still left with nothing on the scoreboard.

Match Statistics

São Paulo SP took 15 shots and put 5 on target. Corinthians SP took 16 shots and put 4 on target. Expected goals leaned toward São Paulo SP, 1.72 to 1.24, while Corinthians SP held an 8-6 edge in corners. The official card tally listed 5 yellows for São Paulo SP and 4 for Corinthians SP, with Corinthians SP also shown the only red of the match.
